Course Description

CAPT students study Level I, II, III and IV with other regular students. It gives greater cultural experience and opportunity to practice on many different types of bodies.

Level I - Foundation of Thai Massage

This course establishes the foundation of a professional Thai Massage practice. The concept of meridians, energy lines (Sen), Yin/Yang are all introduced. This course covers practical aspects such as stretches, acupressure points and proper use of body weight using thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet. Additional emphasis is placed on deep-focused abdominal (Hara) work.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to perform an effective 1 - 1 ½  hour Thai Massage covering  Front Position (Feet–to–face) and back and shoulder massage  in the Sitting Position.

Level II -  Intermediate Thai Massage

Level II expands on the techniques learned in Level I to cover  the Side, Back(Prone) and Sitting positions. Students learn additional  advanced yoga like stretching movements.

Upon completion of Level II, students have a substantial foundation of the major positions of Thai Massage and can expect to perform a comprehensive
1 ½  – 3 hour Thai Massage.

Level III  -  Advanced Sen - Energy Lines

Thai massage is based on the idea that there are energy channels or SEN running through the body. When the SEN becomes blocked, the energy becomes inactive and the body loses its balance causing discomfort or illness to a person.

This advanced level takes students to the in-depth knowledge at the 10 major energy lines (SEN) and their application combined with the movements learned in Level I and II.  Students learn additional advanced yoga like stretching positions to open and activate the SEN. Students also learn advanced and more comprehensive deep-focused abdominal (Hara) work.

This course covers  the Theory of SEN and compares them with the fourteen meridians (Chinese medicine), Nadi (Indian Yoga) and Reiki.

Level IV  -  Therapeutic Thai Massage

This advanced course examines the therapeutic aspects of Thai Massage. We introduce advanced techniques of applying pressure using thumbs, palms and fingers.

This course focuses on acupressure points to relieve ailments such as headache, back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain caused by various conditions, neck stiffness and  tired legs.  Students will learn how to work properly on the acupressure points and how to combine them in a Thai Massage for effective healing

Students will also learn advanced and more comprehensively deep-focused abdominal (Hara) work for relieve of back pain.
