CHONGKOL SETTHAKORN OR “JOHN”
For twenty years, Chongkol has taught people from all over the world the ancient art of Thai massage. In 1992, he founded the International Training Massage School (ITM) in Thailand to promote the Thai massage technique internationally.
Chongkol was head teacher at the Shivaga Komarpaj School in Chiang Mai for five years. In 1991, he went to the United States to teach Thai massage at the International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB) in San Diego, California. During this time, he broadened his training by studying Massage Technician Training and Professional Massage Training. Additional studies included Western and Oriental Massage techniques such as Therapeutic Massage for Acute and Chronic Problems, Tui Na Internship (Chinese Massage), Jin Shin Acutouch (Japanese Method of Healing Art), Tai Chi Chuan, and the IPSB Movement Form.
After returning to Thailand and establishing ITM, he along with Arthur Lambert authored “Nuad Bo-Rarn, the Traditional Massage of Thailand”, published for the first time in 1992. Having increased experience and knowledge in Thai massage, Chongkol co-authored the book “Nuad Bo-Rarn, Ancient Massage of Thailand” in 2001 with Atchara Setthakorn.
With his interest in different kinds of bodywork, he learned Tai Chi and adapt the techniques for the flowing of the movements in Thai massage. He has been a volunteered instructor in Tai Ji Qi Gong (Chi Kung) and Tai Chi Chuan (long-form Yang style) for the community in Chiang Mai city.
Chongkol is frequently requested to speak and train at international symposiums and seminars on health and massage. Some of her noteworthy appearances include: guest speaker and training at the CIDESCO European Congress and Exhibition 2000, Athens, Greece; provided intensive Thai training in massage, Geneva, Switzerland, 2003; trained massage therapists at the COMO Shambhala Spa, Metropolitan Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, 2003.

| ATCHARA SETTHAKORN received Thai Massage training from Chongkol Setthakorn at the Old Medicine Hospital in 1992 and assisted in teaching Thai massage at ITM since then.
Atchara Setthakorn is one of the owners of the ITM International Massage Training School. Atchara is certified as a teacher by the Thai Ministry of Education.
Atchara is also recognized by the Thai Alliance of Health (THAI) as an advanced Practitioner of Thai Massage and an Instructor. She is fully qualified to train all of ITM’s courses.
In 1999 Atchara took an additional Thai Massage and Herbal Therapy course at Faculty of Pharmacy, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. She assisted Chongkol in authoring the book "Nuad Bo-Rarn, Ancient Massage of Thailand" published in 2001, and the latest edition in 2005.
In June 2003, Atchara accompanied Chongkol to Geneva, Switzerland to provide an intensive Thai massage training. |

SUTTHIRUK (LIZ) SITTHISOONTHORN is the Operation Manager at ITM and one of the principals in the organization. Liz has primary responsibility for ensuring that all business activiteis are managed and coordinated in both the ITM school and Spa Mantra.
Liz is recognized by the Thai Alliance of Health (THAI) as an advanced Practitioner of Thai Massage and an Instructor. Liz shares responsibility with the other ITM principals for decisions on course offerings and content. She is fully qualified to train all of ITM’s courses. Liz also functions as the Director for Spa Mantra .
Ms. Sitthisoonthorn is frequently requested to speak and train at international symposiums and seminars on health and massage. Some of her noteworthy appearances include: provided intensive Thai training in massage, Geneva, Switzerland, 2003; trained massage therapists at the COMO Shambhala Spa, Metropolitan Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, 2003; trained massage therapists at the Club Olympus, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Delhi, India, 2005; guest speaker, International Congress of Applied Aesthetic and Cosmetologie “Les Nouvelles Esthetiques” Kiev, Ukraine; 2005, Training, Inmaster – Institut de Massage Therapies Manuals, Kiev,Ukraine, 2005.
Ms. Sitthisoonthorn has also attended advanced training to be certified as a Master Trainer (teacher) by the Thai Ministry of Labor and the Thai Ministry of Education. Living in the USA for 8 years Liz is also fluent in English, in addition to her native language of Thai. Liz is also fluent in Japanese. |

CHULALUCK (KATE) SETTHAKORN is the General Manager at ITM and one of the principals in the school. Kate has primary responsibility for ensuring that all business activiteis are managed and coordinated in both the ITM school and Spa Mantra.
Kate is recognized by the Thai Alliance of Health (THAI) as an advanced Practitioner of Thai Massage and an Instructor. Kate shares responsibility with the other ITM principals for decisions on course offerings and content. She is fully qualified to train all of ITM’s courses. Kate also functions as the Marketing Manager for Spa Mantra and in this capacity develops the business plan for sales and marketing activities.
Kate is frequently requested to speak and train at international symposiums and seminars on health and massage. Chulaluck Setthahorn is internationally educated in business with an MBA from the International University in Geneva, Switzerland and a Bachelors degree in Economics from the Chiang Mai University, Thailand. Kate has also attended advanced training to be certified as a Master Trainer (teacher) by the Thai Ministry of Labor and the Thai Ministry of Education. In addition to Kate’s native language of Thai, she is also fluent in French and English. |
